I recently received a mail from Jen Vittanuova  expressing her gratitude after attending one of the wedding workshops that I recently conducted in the UK.  It is so validating and rewarding knowing that I have made an impact.

“Where to start when reviewing Brett’s Three-Day Wedding Photography Course?! I must admit, after looking at his work and making up my own silly mind, I did expect Brett to turn up with fanfare and whistles, but he came in just as we were, a normal guy, no attitude, no big headedness, made sure he said hi to each person individually and made us all feel really welcome. There was definitely no ego in the room! There was no part of the course where he rushed through anything, I felt totally at ease asking (lots of) questions and adding my own experiences, as did the rest of the group. It was really interesting that there were photographers of all different levels, even a hobbyist who was just there to have fun – it’s supposed to be fun right? When it came to the engagement shoot day we did three different looks with the amazing models, Brett talked us through everything he was doing, posing, best lighting, best backgrounds, settings if we needed them, in fact, anything we needed to get “the” shot we wanted. The locations were all stunning and obviously the sunshine in Manchester helped (we don’t get it too often, maybe Brett brought it with him!). We then went through a lot of theory about how to best market yourself and make the best of yourself in the industry. Importantly, how to stand out above everyone else – this part really helped me as I felt I was struggling to get noticed in the “group” or “level” I was in, and I really wanted to pick up my game and get to that next level. I feel the skills that Brett showed us, and the stuff he sent us away to look at and read, has really helped me focus. The wedding shoot was AMAZING! The styling, the outfits, the setting, were all absolutely perfect. I have possibly the best pictures I have ever taken from this course, and so many more ideas on what I want to do next, and after that, and after that too! I feel like my head is going to explode with my ideas in fact! The equipment we used on each day was shown to us fully, and we all knew how to work it and how to get one if we wanted one, such as the Rotolight (which was my favourite) and the discounts definitely helped purchasing decisions! So overall, I honestly can’t thank Brett and the team enough for everything. Brett was so open and honest, he wasn’t hiding anything from us, he laid himself completely bare and offered us the chance to do so too, even if just to ourselves in private, and see where we were going. The sky’s the limit!”  – Jen Vittanuova

This Summer’s UK Wedding Workshop tour was such fun!  I met and got to know so many talented photographers from the UK and a few that flew in from other European countries.  There is no way I could’ve done this on my own, my gratitude to the Make-up artists, Alanna Jane Flanders-Doughty and Vicki Farr you are both very talented and worked so hard to make our models look amazing!  Models Roseanne, Malcolm, Zara, Lee and Annabel were incredible.  They were so patient and enthusiastic.  I couldn’t be more happy! Special thanks to Enzoani gowns for your continued support with the supply of your incredible gowns.  Thanks to Phil for supplying the  Dyfed menswear.  Gray’s Inn could’ve been a better venue, with friendly staff and incredible food.  One of hardest working people I know is Christine Wright of Horticouture – You are truly amazing!  Your talent goes way beyond flowers. Thank you, thank you, thank you! Logistically putting together workshops in a country that you don’t live in is challenging, fortunately I have two wonderful friends in Zoe and Dom of Dominic Wright Photographers, meeting you at SWPP  three years ago was really cool and I am glad that we have kept up the friendship. Special mention to Jacques-Francois and Andy Moore  for filming the entire six days to be made into a training video.  Lastly, thank you to all the photographers that attended, all of you were enthusiastic, engaging and considerate.  True professionals.  I look forward to seeing your name up in lights soon!
